Apparently, about ONE out of THREE people who end up in the ER with an injury are there because they got hurt while they were DRUNK.
But who knew someone was actually keeping track of HOW they got drunk?
A new study out of Johns Hopkins University found the six brands that lead to the most ER visits, in order . . .
The Six Brands of Booze That Send the Most People to the ER
2. Steel Reserve malt liquor.
3. Colt 45 malt liquor.
4. Bud Ice, which isn't technically malt liquor, but does have a higher alcohol content.
5. Bud Light.
6. Barton's Vodka.
So: cheap beer, cheap vodka, and 40s of malt liquor. For what it's worth, the study is from just one hospital in Baltimore, in a mostly black neighborhood. And malt liquor is HEAVILY advertised in black neighborhoods, which could be why it's so prominent.
But the researchers say things like malt liquor and cheap vodka and gin would probably still be on this list if it was expanded nationwide, because they offer a LOT of alcohol at a cheap price.
