Thanks to my morning show partner, Christie Banks for turning me on to a wine that was recently featured on The Dr. Oz Show. This wine has actually been credited with helping the people of Sardinia, an island off the coast of Italy, live longer. Sardinia has 10 times more centenarians than the U. S. and maybe, just maybe, Cannonau Red Wine is a factor in their longevity. Explorer, Dan Beuttner told Dr. Oz that Cannonau red wine, has the highest levels of polyphenols of any wine and those polyphenols are full of antioxidants that are really good for our arteries. And get this, Sardianians start their day around 10 in morning with a small glass of this wine then they have another with lunch, one with happy hour and another small glass with dinner. The key is, they’re drinking very small glasses so at the end of the day, they’ve really only consumed the equivalent of two of our “regular” glases of wine. I’m told you can find Cannonau Red wine at local retailers. If it helps me to live longer, I’m in! My wine club is sponsored by The Rustic Cellar in the heart of Boca Raton, where wine is the main course. Be sure to sign up for my wine club at here at sunny 1079.com for discounts and entry into special wine events. Here’s to this week’s wine…Cannonau Wine! Cheers!
